The Essence of Leadership

As a leadership development facilitator and a coach, I am often asked "who is a leader?". I have found great wisdom and inspiration from a particular answer Madiba gave to a similar question. As we celebrate his 100th I am drawn to this again. He says. "It's not a question of a leader. It's a question of a human being, who does something to make an ordinary individual to feel I am a human being, and I have a future and I can go to bed feeling strong and full of hope".

If you need a checklist list here it is. Remember we are all called to leadership. You can do something to create a new future, offer hope, make others strong and above all make others feel human. To me that's the essence of leadership.
