Developing Meaningful and Unique Metrics that Accelerate Execution

The KPIs in the image are not from my morning exercise routine. These activity levels were recorded when I facilitated an offsite retreat for a group of leaders from one of the leading multinational banks on Friday. It was full of energy, fun, learning, and insights.

Developing meaningful and unique metrics that give you feedback on the state of play and not just the outcomes is essential for accelerated execution. That way you know which levers to pull to influence the outcomes you desire. Using line items from financial statements as your KPIs is not enough. Invest in creating a meaningful dashboard for the task that you perform.
